You guys, this project has come to an end. ): I felt that we were productive in our work. We shared our opinions of the books to each other and feel that the book is well analyzed.
Now what are your last thoughts about the book?
Anything you like or dislike about it?
What do you think the theme of the book is?
Can you connect this with other books?

Now what are your last thoughts about the book?
ReplyDeleteI think the book was very unique. The first section was boring, the second one was exciting, and the last one was just frightening.
Anything you like or dislike about it?
I think the book was generally really good, but the book would've been even better if the first section was a lot cheerful and more exciting.
What do you think the theme of the book is?
I think the theme of this book is just foreshadowing the future. George Orwell wanted to tell what he thought the future might be and the book reflects what actually happened when the book was published a lot longer ago.
Can you connect this with other books?
I'm not sure... but the history context is sure good and amazing.

This book definitely has to be one of my favoirte books ever!
ReplyDeleteAt first, everytime I they disappeared as in killed however, now I think mayeb it is not physically being killed but maybe the souls is killed. So, now, I'm not so sure anymore.
I felt that a big theme in this story was communism as the Party controlled everything in Oceania.
Another theme is love. Everytime Winston was tortured, he still held the love for Julia...until the end when he gives in. ):
Also a theme that was shown was courage. When everyone was following the Party's strict rules, he decides to go against everyone else and the Party. I thnk that shows courage.

LOVE OUR GROUP! (:
ReplyDeleteI thought the ending of the book was really sad.
I was really confused about the end but i get it now.
i think some of the themes are like a dictatorship and controlling the mind.
I didn't reallly like the beginning, it was kinda boring and it took me a long time to read.
i think i could connect this with holocaust books because both have dictatorship.
